The Future of Simvla - An open letter to the community

328 words • reading time 1 minute

Hi everyone. This is Faisal Abid, Founder of Dynamatik.

Early this morning, I got an email from Simvla’s creator looking for someone to take over the network. Rumours on twitter started to spread talking about Simvla shutting down, as well as a few bloggers wondering what the fate of all their content will be.

I read the email and promptly got in touch with Andrea. After a few conversations it was clear that we both share the same love for blogging, and our visions align very much with what Andrea wants Simvla to be.

With that in mind, we decided that it would make sense for Dynamatik to acquire Simvla and continue building the rich community that Andrea started to build.

What does the acquisition mean for Simvla and its users?

Nothing, things will continue to operate exactly the same as they have before. However, Dynamatik will focus on building out the platform to give it a distinct look, while keeping the same minimalistic UX approach that users love.

The project will continue to be open-source (under github.com/FaisalAbid), and we will do our best to keep it updated with any new features that we implement for the production version on simvla.com.

What changes can Simvla and its users see in the near future?

This is a very tough question to answer. We have a lot of unique ideas that we want to implement for Simvla, however we have to first ensure the foundation to build these ideas off is sold. My personal task will be to grow Simvla’s user base, to get more interesting bloggers on it as well as rich content that the entire network can benefit from. After that we will be able to bring on features that help bloggers write and publish.
